This is an animated countdown of your session, which lets you know if it has expired. This notification can be etremely helpful if you've been writing a long article, as you know you'll need to Apply your changes soon so you don't lose your work!
The animated countdown will change from green, to orange, to red as your time runs out. Once your time is completely out, your session has expired and you'll have to log back in.
