It's time for another installment (#7) of our Joomla 1.6 admin template concept series! Last time we covered an all new concept for the Module Manager.

This time we're covering something totally new to Joomla: Pages! The idea of a wizard to help create a new "page" (menu item) has long been a dream of mine, and has begun to pop up in the J!UX discussions. Essentially Pages would be a new admin component that would be a more user-friendly alternative to creating menu items.

Joomla 1.6 Admin Template Concept Update VI

In this sixth installment of our Joomla 1.6 Admin concept, we're focusing on lists, more specially the Modules Manager list. Last time we discussed content creation and focused on the article editor.

Behind content creation, the lists of data in Joomla are a close second in importance. You'll find these list everywhere, in the Menus, Articles, Modules and in most Components. We'll need to establish a base set of standards we'll follow throughout the admin site. While mild variation is perfectly acceptable, the UI needs to remain intuitive throughout.

Joomla 1.6 Admin Template Concept Update V

AdminPraise 3 mockups march on today with some all new concepts! Last time we discussed the fact that different people with different daily tasks use Joomla and the interface should adjust to meet their needs.

Today we focus on the article creation page, which is arguably the page you spend your most time viewing. With the rise of K2, FLEXIcontent, Zoo, jSeblod and other CCK components, that time is probably falling, but this is a good place to start. We'll continue in the scenario of a blogger using the admin site from last time.

Joomla 1.6 Admin Template Concept Update IV

We're continuing with the concepts that will lead to our next Joomla 1.6 admin template. This time we focus on 2 main points: 1. Alternate views for content creators & 2. Browser sizing.

Joomla 1.6's new ACL capabilities will allow more flexibility in the Joomla admin than ever before. We've got some ideas on how to put it to use.

Here's an update to our original concept for our advanced Joomla 1.6 admin template (codename: AdminPrais3). In this update we explore the Joomla 1.6 ACL acting on the template, and the interaction with the interface.

The scenario of this mockup is that I'm logged in as a Shop Admin. I'm only seeing the things that might be relevant to my shop such as Tienda recent orders, Amigos affiliate sales, Billets support tickets, Google analytics and the recent Joomailer Mailchimp email campaign.

Joomla 1.6 Admin Template Concept II

In our last post, we introduced our first concept for the Joomla 1.6 admin interface, which was focused on a new customizable dashboard for Joomla. The goal was to get as much info as possible while not ending up with information overload. This second concept focuses on the task at hand and only providing the relevant information.

Joomla 1.6 Admin Template In The Works

Joomla 1.6 development is moving right along (1.6 Beta 5 was just released). We're starting to get inquiries about if/when our Joomla Administrator Templates will be made 1.6 compatible. The short answer: some of them. The bigger picture: you should be more excited about completely new admin templates.
