1. AP2 is Easy to Learn (and easy to teach)
Because AP2 is grouped in a more user friendly way than Khepri, training others to use the software has become a piece of cake. No more chasing down menu items and navigating through several pages just to create a new article – just hit the big icon on the front page, select an icon from the dock menu, or choose one of the menu items up top to take you straight where you need to go. AP2 also gives users several different ways of achieving the same goal, so it’s pretty close to impossible to not find your way through.
If, for some reason, you or your client is getting overwhelmed, just head into the Admin Module Manager and remove some of what is showing. That will start the cleanup process in a flash, and will give you more room to breathe. You can also collapse any of the sidebars by clicking the small arrows that appear on their top left corner. Or, you can group modules together with the tabbed interface by publishing them to the same position. If that’s still not easy enough for you, we’ve created a forum and videos to offer you the best support available.
2. AP2 is Filled with Features
There are so many different ways of displaying and managing the layout of AP2, that anyone can find some combination that will leave them satisfied and ready to work on their site. From the mac-like dock at the bottom, to the WYSIWYG Editor switch menu on the top right, and even on the home page where custom icons are ready to be re-ordered, everything you could need is right at your fingertips. We’ve even created some special positions for our own Activity Log and History Breadcrumbs modules.
If you don’t like one of our features, turn it off. You don’t need to use every feature to get the most out of the template. Most of the beauty in the way it works is that every site you create can have a completely different look and setup from the others. While your personal site might utilize our “Set Start Page” tool, the site you manage at work may never have use for it. Everything in this template can be configured in one of three places on the site; Menu Manager, Administrator Module Manager or the Template Parameters.
3. AP2 is Easy to Customize
For web developers and designers that are going to hand the site over to your clients, the fact that this template is so highly customizable should make any of you take a second look. From the moment that you fire up the installation, you’ll notice that the design is way more intuitive than the default khepri template. You can easily change the logo, colors, images, links, icons, menus and all of the module positions that are found scattered throughout. Want to get rid of the dock module at the bottom? Piece of cake. How about removing some of those extra menu items? Just make a few changes to the params and you’re done.
Nothing else comes close to being a fully functional Joomla admin template that works with you, not against you. You can even change the way the site looks using images and CSS code. Your clients need never know what Joomla even is.
