AdminPraise Lite (APlite), our completely free & GPL Joomla admin template, is new and improved for Joomla 1.7! We started by simply porting the Joomla 1.6 version of APlite over to 1.7 and fixing any bugs that popped up. By the time we were finished, we had updated just about every aspect of the template.

New Component Sidebar

new-sidebarThe first thing you'll notice when you login is a totally refreshed sidebar. The component list in the sidebar was popular in APlite, but the appearance had become very dated.

The sidebar can still be moved to the left or right, as well as completely turned off, or just turned off for specific components.

We've also added a "System Settings" set of menu items for super admins.

Column Scrolling

scroll

Instead of scrolling the main page, APlite now features "column scrolling" in the sidebar and main content areas. This provides a much more web app-like user experience. This is particularly useful if you have a lot of components installed, or if you're on the lower portion of the content screen and you want quick access to the toolbar.

Dynamic Component Menu Item

component-tab

If the component being view doesn't already exist in the top menu, a new tab will be dynamically generated for the current component being viewed in order to give a little more content to the page.

Updated Themes

All the themes have received a fresh coat of paint. Many of the themes use CSS3 styles which has evolved since the implementation in Joomla 1.6, so they've all been updated to support more browsers.
