You must determine the extensions that are best for your site including one that secures your content. Securing your site is crucial to all administrators even when it comes to what is displayed. Imagine an employee creating a blog that could hurt your business or someone updating an article by reseting the admin password. You wouldn't want that, would you? Know your options. Get email notifications while you're at work or on the road. Always keep track of your users, site content, who's doing what, and especially when your website generates your monthly salary.
SubmitMailer and Activity Log are two extensions that can help minimize security scares. SubmitMailer sends an email notification to all administrators when content, weblinks, DOCman, K2, and FLEXIcontent items get submitted to the Joomla frontend & backend while Activity Log records all admin user activity and displays it in the backend. Even admins need control.
SubmitMailer Pro is easy to install. Simply go to your Extension Manager and install the plugin. In this screenshot, we show the plugin parameters using AdminPraise3. Once you have installed SubmitMailer, enable the plugin and change the parameters to your custom details under tools -> plugins and voila, you will start receiving emails whenever your site is updated.

Activity Log is included in the AdminPraise bundle. If you're not using this Admin Template, it is just like installing SubmitMailer. Remember that with any extension or plug-in, you must always enable on the backend before you experience the power. With Activity Log, you have the option to filter by user and/or component. You can always track when an article or category has changed and who made that change. It's that easy! If your website is the core of your business or if have multiple people maintaining your website, we highly recommend these two Joomla extensions. Keep an eye on your site at all times.
