As the beta release of Joomla! 1.6 approaches, we've got some top secret screenshots of the super secret development of Joomla! 1.7!
Why do we create alternate Joomla! admin templates?
Written by Kyle Ledbetter CommentsTo Solve A Problem
That's the point of design in the first place. A problem or set of requirements is presented and a design attempts to solve it.
Innovation and Creativity
The Joomla! admin hasn't progressed much at all from the original Mambo admin. After a certain amount of time, it's perfectly nature for the Joomla! community to step in and make the necessary change. This was the reason behind the original AdminPraise 1. We were frustrated with the lack of admin updates and workflow nightmares, so decided to make our own admin. Kudos to the Joomla! core team for having thing foresight of adding a template layer to the backend (lacking as it may currently be). Arguably updating the admin template shouldn't fall on the core team and the thriving Joomla! community SHOULD pick up the challenge.
Much like CCK components such as K2, FLEXIcontent & Zoo are stepping in to improve Joomla! content capabilities, we're working hard to improve the Joomla! admin panel. We're not alone either, JoomlaBamboo and Udjamaflip have also started developing alternate admin templates.
We've just updated Stainless to support its twin Projectfork theme Steel!
It's finally here! I'm super pleased to announce the release of Stainless Alpha! AdminPraise Bundle owners have the please of testing out this release first. Once we reach a beta, we'll release Stainless individually.
We're getting closer and closer to an Alpha release for Stainless. We've got it installable, but are chasing down a few nagging bugs before releasing it. Admin Bundle owners will get first crack at the Alpha, and then we'll offer it individually once it's a fairly stable beta.
Check out the video below to watch the installation process, which should feel familiar to AP Lite users. It gives you a good idea of how Stainless feels in use.
Development of Stainless is coming along smashingly. I just wanted to post some images of several screens of the current status.
We're really focusing on a user interface that is intuitive and offers feedback while buttons are depressed. We also want to focus the latest Joomla technologies such as K2.
More soon!
In the first time in a long while, AdminPraise 2 has been updated! It's no coincedence that right after we've got the new sites launched that AP2 receives an update. This is a direct result of a better infrastructure with the new K2 powered Joomla sites and the new store!
We're thrilled to present the all new AdminPraise.com! The AdminPraise Joomla admin templates have long been some of our most popular templates, and people have loved our admin extensions, so we thought it was time to group them all together and give them the attention they deserve.
